The last of the popular but discontinued Sakizome Momen fabric range have been made into a limited number of charm packs. Olympus won't be making any more in this series, so once they are gone, they are gone!
This subtle potluck selection of 70 x 10cm charm squares has fourteen different fabrics with five squares of each. These are all great quality fabrics, including plaids, Jacquards, and stripes - Sakizome Momen was a range of woven designs, no prints. The fabric thicknesss vary a little, but all are slightly thicker materials, with a looser weave than most patchwork prints, and beautiful textures. All cut and packed for you by Olympus Thread Mfg. Co., Japan.
All the packs I have been sent are identical. Because they are the same size as the previous potluck charm packs I've had from Olympus, they would combine with them very well for a larger project.
What will you make with yours? I'm making a 20 x 20 checkerboard quilt from four packs from the potluck 10in square charm series, taking slightly larger seam allowances than my usual quarter inch to allow for slight fraying, and may combine a pack of these wovens with a potluck pack for another project. The packs would also make good nine patch blocks, among other ideas, and also be great for boro inspired work. They would be beautiful for patching faded jeans, as the colours are quite subtle.
