The last of these popular charm packs have just arrived. Olympus won't be making any more in this series, so once they are gone, they are gone!
This fantastic potluck selection of 100 x 10cm charm squares has twenty different fabrics with five squares of each (occasionally, these groups of five may seem to have two or three fabrics in them, but that's because some were cut from multiprint fabrics). These are all great quality fabrics, including plaids, Jacquards, sarasa style prints (the Japanese version of Indian chintz), prints inspired by Ōshima Tsumugi ikat, vintage kimono fabrics, etc. All cut and packed for you by Olympus Thread Mfg. Co., Japan.
I opened a couple of packs for the photos above (first and second photos). There seem to be two main variations, although the packs do share quite a lot of fabrics, and certainly work well with each other. If you order more than one pack, I will try to choose two which look different.
What will you make with yours? I'm making a 20 x 20 checkerboard quilt from four previous packs in this series, and have an idea for another very simple checker board quilt using two packs, 14 x 14 squares (196 squares) with the remaining four squares used as cornerstones. Many of the fabrics are still thicker ‘linen look’ fabrics, 100% cotton, and I am taking slightly larger seam allowances than my usual quarter inch to allow for slight fraying. The packs would also make good nine patch blocks, among other ideas, and also be great for boro inspired work.
I have listed these separately from the original taupe packs and the 'more colourful' packs that I have because they do have a slightly different selection once again – quite a lot of darker fabrics with beautiful designs, plus some larger print fabrics.
