These fabrics from Olympus are printed for sashiko stitching, with marks that wash out later. Choose from 5mm dot patterns - designed primarily for stitching hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko) but also great as a foundation grid for drawing your own pattern combinations - or various printed all over designs. If you can't choose just one, how about #11 with eight different sashiko designs, or #13, with a combination of strips of four different patterns and individual hexagons with kamon crests and geometrics?

These are printed on 'Oxford Cloth' cotton, which feels quite stiff and more tightly woven than the Kofu Tsumugi used for my sashiko panels, but it stitches beautifully and becomes much softer when washed for use after stitching. Great for all kinds of projects, including things that take a lot of wear, like bags.

NB - another fabric which must not be washed before stitching, or the marks will disappear!
