These 17.5cm (6 7/8in approx.) charm square packs have been made from a selection of discontinued fabrics made by Olympus Thread Mfg. Co., with a retro vibe, and include prints that are inspired by vintage kimono fabrics, traditional Japanese designs, and mid Showa era (1926 - 1989) florals (some of these remind me of the dress fabrics my mum used in the early 70s!) Olympus won't be making any more in this series, so once they are gone, they are gone! 
 
This subtle selection of 30 x 17.5cm charm squares has fifteen different fabrics with two squares of each. They are all prints, although some are imitating woven patterns and some of the fabrics are a slightly textured weave. A nice weight for patchwork and other crafts. All cut and packed for you by Olympus Thread Mfg. Co., Japan.

There is a bit of an assortment to these packs, so I've taken photos showing you the typical content of two of them.  Each pack seems to include some designs in several different colourways. As I can't work out exactly what is in each pack without unpacking every one, please take these photos as a rough guide. If you order more than one pack, I'll try to send two that look like they are different from each other, but you may still end up with four of some prints.

Each pack comes with an identical free patchwork bag pattern as a little bonus - in Japanese, but it is rather like following IKEA instructions, in that you don't really need to be able to read the language to follow the diagrams and sizes. There is a pattern sheet for cutting out the pieces too. Please note that to make a bag from the pack you would need extra fabric for lining, as shown in the last photo, and that all sizes are given in metric not imperial.
 
What will you make with yours? They would be great for an easy little patchwork, and I am about to add a new version of my Spinning Squares pattern to the website as a Pdf download. The larger size means they could be used to make half square triangles or cut into quarters for four patch blocks that could then be trimmed to fit with the 10cm charm pack squares, or they could be mixed with 5in Moda charm packs. Inexpensive enough to order several and have fun playing with them.
