Kofu Tsumugi is a top quality 100% cotton yarn dyed shot cotton, woven with a coloured warp and a black weft by Olympus Thread Mfg. Co. The black weft gives it an amazing depth to the colours and great subtlety. It is the same fabric that my sashiko panels are printed on. Tsumugi has a sligtly slubbed effect which reflects how it was originally a hand woven kimono fabric. Fine enough for detailed patchwork, I used it for many blocks in the Japanese Quilt Blocks to Mix and Match book, as well as for many sashiko projects. The perfect all rounder.
