T
erms & Conditions and Privacy Policy information

Please accept both my Terms & Conditions and my Privacy Policy before this website can process your order - there are tick boxes on the check out page.

Security and Personal Data

I need to collect, process and store some of your personal data, to enable processing your order. This is done in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR - of the European Union, which came into force 25th May 2018. I've had a look at what advice I can find on this (as usual for the UK, it seems the only way that businesses find out about this is indirectly from social media, news etc. - there has been no official contact about it at all!)

I collect your name, billing address, delivery address, email address and phone number via your PayPal payment (so please check this information is correct on PayPal!) Without this information I would not be able to fulfil and despatch your order, to contact you about your order or resolve any problems with your order. This data is stored on my web host's secure server. This website is hosted by Wix.

If you want your information deleted, please contact me and I will delete it - but if I do this, I will not be able to contact you or resolve any problem with your order. You will also be removed from my newsletter mailing list.

I would NEVER give/sell anyone's e mail contact details to third parties, unless obliged by law.  Of course, I will need to 'share' your name and delivery address with the post office, by writing it on the outside of your parcel.

Online shop payments - all payments are handled by PayPal, so I won't have your bank or credit card details - ever! This is one of the most secure ways to pay online. While I accept that occasionally customers have had difficult experiences with PayPal, it is a considerably more secure way to pay than giving my website your card payment details directly. I have used PayPal myself without issues for over seventeen years.

Cookies Policy

Like most other websites, this one uses small files called ‘cookies’ to help tailor your experience. Cookies are stored by your web browser on your computer or phone. They help the site to function properly, and are deleted when you close your web browser. I do not use tracking cookies or third party cookies, or use cookies to collect personal information when you simply visit this site, so you won't be bombarded with ads from me as you browse the internet.

By using this website you are agreeing with my Cookies Policy.

If you prefer not to accept this policy, you can set  your web browser to disable cookies, but if you do this, some areas of the site will not function for you, such as the online shop (and you will have similar lack of function on other websites). For more information about cookies, please visit www.AboutCookies.org

Privacy policy

As explained above, any personal information you give to us will always be processed in accordance with GDPR. I will only use the personal information you provide to deliver the services you have requested, or for my lawful purposes. Your personal details will never be made available outside my business without your consent, unless obliged by law.

For students on my sashiko courses, I will only have the contact details you have given to me - this is so I can send out e mails to the course group and also have a way to contact you in emergencies (such as when I had to postpone a class at short notice due to the snow this Spring).  These contact details are NOT stored on this website's server. I keep your e mail addresses as securely as possible for a one person business running my contacts from a MacBook and iPhone (fingerprint recognition).

Newsletter

I have a mailing list for my newsletter, but if you wish to unsubscribe, there is a button at the bottom of the e mail where you can do just that. I send newsletters by email only when I have some news for you, which is rarely more than once a week, with information of new products, special offers, events etc. - but if you want to keep up with what is happening re my workshops, shows, books etc. I also suggest keeping an eye on this website, following my blog (there's a link at the top of the page homepage) and/or 'liking' and following my Facebook artist page
