These little bundles of five sixteenths of a metre (25 x 26cm approx.) are perfect for mixing in with other scraps for a traditional boro inspired piece. There are three Kaffe Fassett Shot Cottons and two Kaffe Fassett stripes. These fabrics fray to reveal different warp and weft threads, so the raw edges look more interesting. These would add a spicy colour highlight to a boro inspired project, and make a beautiful colour contrast with shades of indigo.
Karē (curry) is a popular dish in Japan, and Japanese style curry has become known in the UK as ‘katsu curry’ (although the ‘katsu’ part refers to a chicken or pork cutlet, usually deep fried in breadcrumbs and presented on top of the dish, rather than to the curry sauce - without the ‘katsu’ it should just be ‘karē’). Although there are some quite hot versions, generally it is milder than many Indian curries. My friends think it is a good choice in the hot weather! I included a pinky red shot cotton, the same colour as the mixed pickles usually served on the side.
I have many sashiko threads in the same colours which would be ideal for a boro inspired project - you can search sashiko thread by colour as well as type/brand.
This listing is for ONE mini boro bundle, but several are shown in the photos to give you a better view of the fabrics.
I add more bundles on different themes from time to time. It is easier (and more fun for me!) to make these bundles in one-off batches, rather than trying to repeat the same fabric assortment, so once these are gone, I will not repeat them.
