These stunning new colours of sashiko are new releases for 2025. Be one of the first to add these fabulous new sashiko thread colours to your collection!

Medium mercerised sashiko thread 100m skein, shade #137 'kohaku' or amber (first photo) - one of ten new solid colours!  Suitable for all your sashiko and boro stitching.  May be used double or singly.

The manufacturer says - 'The color is inspired by amber, a fossilized natural resin that has been used in amulets and daily necessities as a guardian stone that attracts happiness since ancient times. The color is perfect for forming auspicious patterns such as an uchide no kozuchi (the lucky mallet carried by Daikoku, one of the Seven Gods of Good Luck).' The second photo shows a Kutani-ware version of Daikoku's mallet from my personal collection - shake it for good luck!

Please note - this mercerised thread feels slightly smoother and thinner than the non-mercerised 20m sashiko thread. It is less likely to 'shred' or go slightly fluffy when stitching.

Ideal for my printed sashiko panels.

Sashiko needles - use either Olympus Thread Mfg. Co.sashiko needles 2 pack or 4 pack.

Available in many beautiful solid colours, plus 'bokashi' (shading to white) and varigated multicolours.
