These stunning new colours of sashiko are new releases for 2025. Be one of the first to add these fabulous new sashiko thread colours to your collection!
Medium mercerised sashiko thread 100m skein, shade #131 'unohana', a white with a hint of extra pale gret (first photo) - the name refers to the Japanese snow flower or deutzia. It is one of ten new solid colours! Suitable for all your sashiko and boro stitching. May be used double or singly. The manufacturer says - 'The color is inspired by the "unohana" flower, which blooms in early summer. Unohana is compared to snow, so if you make a detailed pattern with it, it will remind you of white snow.' A very subtle shade and a useful addition to the range of white and off white sashiko threads.
Please note - this mercerised thread feels slightly smoother and thinner than the non-mercerised 20m sashiko thread. It is less likely to 'shred' or go slightly fluffy when stitching.
Ideal for my printed sashiko panels.Sashiko needles - use either Olympus Thread Mfg. Co.sashiko needles 2 pack or 4 pack.
Available in many beautiful solid colours, plus 'bokashi' (shading to white) and varigated multicolours.Made in Japan
