These stunning new colours of sashiko are new releases for 2025.Be one of the first to add these fabulous new sashiko thread colours to your collection!
Medium mercerised sashiko thread 100m skein, shade #134 'gin'nezu', silver mouse grey (first photo) - one of ten new solid colours! Suitable for all your sashiko and boro stitching. May be used double or singly.
The manufacturer says - 'This color is inspired by the "silver mouse'', which is an achromatic yet elegant color that has been enjoyed in ink paintings and Edo period kimonos. By stitching it on white cloth or matching it with black thread, you can create an ink painting-like finish.' A slightly darker neutral grey than 100m #113.
Please note - this mercerised thread feels slightly smoother and thinner than the non-mercerised 20m sashiko thread. It is less likely to 'shred' or go slightly fluffy when stitching.
Ideal for my printed sashiko panels.
Sashiko needles - use either Olympus Thread Mfg. Co.sashiko needles 2 pack or 4 pack.
Available in many beautiful solid colours, plus 'bokashi' (shading to white) and varigated multicolours.
