These stunning new colours of sashiko are new releases for 2025. Be one of the first to add these fabulous new sashiko thread colours to your collection!

Medium mercerised sashiko thread 100m skein, shade #132 'usu', a pale yellow chrsanthemum flower (first photo) - the name literally means 'thin'. It is one of ten new solid colours!  Suitable for all your sashiko and boro stitching.  May be used double or singly.

The manufacturer says - 'The color is inspired by the "usu" color of the beautiful chrysanthemum flower spikes, which has been a popular autumn feature in Japan since ancient times. You can enjoy the soft and gentle texture of the cloth by embroidering the pattern.' Usu-sakura (thin cherry blossom) and usu-gasumi (thin mist) are two varieties of chrysanthemum with very pale petals. This thread would make a great choice for stitching chrysanthemums.

Please note - this mercerised thread feels slightly smoother and thinner than the non-mercerised 20m sashiko thread. It is less likely to 'shred' or go slightly fluffy when stitching.

Ideal for my printed sashiko panels.

Sashiko needles - use either Olympus Thread Mfg. Co.sashiko needles 2 pack or 4 pack.

Available in many beautiful solid colours, plus 'bokashi' (shading to white) and varigated multicolours.
