Shimmering silver metallic adds a sparkle to this traditional Japanese hentaigana (old kana writing) design (first photo) on dark blue. The blue is a little darker than in the photo, more like that of the prints in the second and third photos. Silver metallic adds a sophisticated shimmer to these designs - other coordinating fabrics are shown in photos 2 - 5. Aichi means 'love and knowledge' in Japanese, and handwriting is often used decoratively in Japan.

I used a lot of these kinds of prints in my books 'Japanese Quilt Blocks to Mix and Match' and 'Japanese Quilt Inspirations', and they aren't so easy to find at the moment, so I'm always pleased when I spot another design I love.
