This serene print is 'Bliss Bubbles' in purple from the Whale Song collection by Deborah Edwards and Melanie Samra for Northcott. The fabrics in this collection are digitally printed, so they have all the depth and variation of colour like a batik, but on a fabric base that isn't too tightly woven for hand quilting. It would be great for clothing as well as a patchwork coordinate, or to go with a sashiko panel.I managed to grab a few other designs from this range before they became impossible to get via the wholesalers, so check them out - including this print in a teal blue and a light blue colourway, and a stunning extra wide backing fabric (108in wide). I didn't get the whale picture panels, but they will be available from other retailers if you are really into whales (I'm not especially!)
