This is a digitally reprinted copy of 'Japanese Sashiko Inspirations', my second sashiko book, which was published in 2008. I've been waiting for the digital print quality to improve from the earlier versions, and it is now really good. The paper is matte rather than the glossy paper of the original edition, but the colour photos are all sharp. It is hard to find second hand, so I'm pleased my publishers have done a very limited reprint for me. 

Taking inspirations from Japanese designs and antiques, I created 25 unique projects exploring geometric and pictorial designs in sashiko. You can also get your own ideas from the original traditional Japanese pieces which inspired the project designs as these are all included, plus a gallery of the my sashiko and sashiko inspired quilts. Each chapter features a taster project, ideal for beginners to try the technique, then more challenging larger pieces to perfect new skills. This book pushed the boundaries of traditional sashiko with many variations on traditional patterns. While it is an excellent follow up to my first book, it also contains ample information for the beginner and may be used as a stand alone reference on sashiko.
