I love this graphic prints from Billy* Reue's 'Mosaic' collection for FreeSpirit - his designs are something a bit different, with a slightly translucent, painterly effect. This listing is for 'Leaded Glass' in the 'palm' colourway (first photo - actually, the prints come in only one colourway), greens and aqua blues on aubergine purple, with an all over design reminiscent of an elongated shippō (seven treasures) pattern.
Designed for patchwork, they would also be great for dressmaking and lightweight home dec. This range would add a fantastic hand painted/printed look to your fabrics - they remind me very much of breakdown screenprints. All Billy Reue's designs from his different collections seem to work well with each other.
They would make great coordinates for some of my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads - there's a wide range to choose from.
Storage space constraints meant I couldn't get the whole range, so I have chosen my favourites for you. These are fabrics I have had out on sale at shows, but somehow hadn't managed to get on the website - yet!
*When this print was launched, Billy was designing as 'William Reue' but has changed the name on his collections since. But it is the same person!
