Storage space constraints meant I often can't stock complete ranges, so I choose my favourites to share with you. These are two prints I loved from the 'Exotic Garden Palace' collection by Denise Burkitt for FreeSpirit. This listing is for 'Jade Treasures - Jade' (first photo) and is in gorgeous shades of turquoise, blues, and olive greens, with a transluscent watercolour effect. I thought this would go well with many other fabrics I stock, including those by Billy Reue, and I just love turquoise as an accent to indigo blues!
Designed for patchwork, they would also be great for dressmaking and lightweight home dec. This range would add a fantastic hand painted/printed look to your fabrics - they remind me very much of breakdown screenprints.
They would make great coordinates for some of my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads - there's a wide range to choose from. In particular, this makes me think of 20m #72 and 100m #191. A cushion border, or perhaps a bag lining, stitching one of the hitomezashi panels. I've been thinking about quartering the 'Florets' hitomezashi hanafukin sashiko sampler panel to make a small komebukuro drawstring bag - the pattern layout lends itself to this I think - and this fabric would make a great lining, with #191 as my sashiko thread. The taupe background colour on that panel would be perfect.
