William Morris and Morris & Co. fabric designs are timeless - more popular now than when they were first released! These are the latest interpretations of these classic patterns, with several available on different scales or in different colours to previous releases.

This listing is for 'Mini Strawberry Thief' (first photo) in the mineral multicolour colourway, an early classic Morris & Co. design. The original pattern was designed in 1883 by William Morris, and is presented here in a scaled down version. There is a larger version of the design in this range too.

Other photos show some more of this collection I have in stock. The scale of these FreeSpirit versions of these classic patterns are much smaller than when they were first released over 100 years ago, scaled down for patchwork, so they have a more delicate effect.

Printed on patchwork weight cotton, these fabrics make an ideal coordinate for my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads. Free Spirit fabrics are printed on a 68 count cotton rather than the 60 count used for many other brands, meaning they are slightly finer than many patchwork fabrics and are also suitable for making clothing.

At the moment William Morris designs are hugely popular in Japan - my friends at Yuza Sashiko Guild have been interpreting some of these patterns in sashiko!

PWWM002.MINERAL 'Mini Strawberry Thief' Bedford Park by Morris &, by 1/2m

£8.50Price
  • The Bedford Park collection from Morris & Co. in collaboration with FreeSpirit brings together William Morris’s inner circle of creative talents, heroes of British design, and their work in radical colour. Iconic designs such as Golden Lily, Strawberry Thief, and Marigold look glorious in teal green and heady shades of blush pink. In contrast, designs new to this collection, such as The Savaric and Monkshood, reveal hidden design treasures and new heritage stories. Campanula, a pattern of great complexity, bursts with radical colour combinations while Yew & Aril provides a beautiful coordinating fabric. Combining the whimsical with the untamed this is a colour-rich Morris & Co., collection as you've never seen it before.
