Jen Kingwell's ' Low Volume Wovens' wovens for Moda, this pack of forty two 5in squares includes the whole range, in chic black and white. Something a bit different and very, very stylish in a woven collection!
Limited stock - and I can't reorder these, because they were the last the wholesaler could get for me.
These are not Japanese fabrics, but are typical good quality from Moda, with interesting checks and stripes, plus some ikat and faux stitch woven effects, with a chic urban look. They would give elegant woven accents to a boro inspired project, among other things.
Moda have a very simple one step Log Cabin pattern free on their website, which works for any charm pack, if you are looking for another easy project (third photo).
The pack would combine very well with the 'Urban Homestead Gatherings Wovens' charm pack, which has more black and white weaves, plus some brown and white. That one is a brushed cotton flannel collection, but if you flip the fabrics over, they are not brushed on the reverse, and the woven patterns have a sharper look.
forty two (42) x 5in squares
pinked edges
NB - because these patterns are woven and not printed, some of the squares may not be exactly on grain, and it shows. I'm using similar packs for a scrap quilt, and I like the quirkiness this gives to the patchwork, with some of the fabrics obviously not straight. It would also look good on a piece of boro. But if you are someone who hates having their fabric grain slightly off true, maybe give this pack a miss!
