Printmaker Katherine Watson was inspired by the plants growing in designer her garden and the shapes and symmetry found in nature. The bright colours and bold patterns evoked summer, and she imagined unfurling a quilt on the ground for an outdoor picnic. Each print started with a hand-carved linocut, and the fabric designs features the textures and bold shapes that are a typical feature of lino cuts. I liked these bold, modern prints, with more than a nod towards the traditions of the Arts and Crafts Movement, and designers like William Morris and C F Voysey.
This listing is for the Layer Cake in the first photo. The remaining photos show some of the rest of the range, plus individual photos of the prints I have available as yardage.
