Jason Yenter's 'Elysian' collection takes it's inspiration from the Elysian Fields of Greek mythology. This print has a suburst motif which, if you look carefully, is actually 'built' on top of the sashiko pattern 'asanoha' (hemp leaf), which we all love! Red, russet, and fuchia pink, shading through to white, combine to give a gorgeous 'bokashi' mottle effect. The jewel like colours are digitally printed, so you get all the depth and variation of colour like a batik, but on a fabric base that isn't too tightly woven for hand quilting. It would be great for clothing as well as a patchwork coordinate, or to go with a sashiko panel.

I managed to grab a few other designs from this range before they became impossible to get via the wholesalers, so check them out too. Lots of delicious purples...
