Staying with a garden theme but going with a more abstract and retro representation, 'Butterfly Leaves' is a cute print from After the Rain by Bookhou, for FreeSpirit, in the cerulean colourway (first photo), a gorgeous pale turquoise which coordinates beautifully with some of my other fabrics in turquoise colours (check out the blue fabrics section). I have one other print from this range - 'Shadow' in purple and lilac (second photo).

Printed on patchwork weight cotton, this fabric also makes an unusual coordinate for my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads. Free Spirit fabrics are printed on a 68 count cotton rather than the 60 count used for many other brands, meaning they are slightly finer than many patchwork fabrics and are also suitable for making clothing.
