This stunning large sashiko panel from QH Textiles, 'Shuffle', depicts traditional sashiko patterns in the form of scattered shikishi picture cards. It makes a great pair with 'Flow', as a wallhanging, table runner centre, quilt panel, or even a large tote bag. The design is more or less symmetrical top to bottom - there's no 'right' way up, so it is suitable for making into lots of different things without worrying about the pattern direction. This panel is printed on a deep indigo blue colour, so it suits many different thread colours. Also available in taupe grey.
Total panel size is 43in (110cm) high x 18in (45cm) wide approx, printed across the full width of the fabric width.
Hand printed in Japan
Stitching suggestions for the panel -
This design would look lovely whether stitched in traditional white or cream thread, or in colours! In colour, a light or bright shade would be good to outline the different rectangles, perhaps with two similar shades of gold for the inner and outer circle, stitched first, and filling in with different coordinated colours for the circle centres. The traditional patterns can be stitched following the same patterns in 'The Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook', where they are stitched as squares, but the stitching sequence will be the same.
The indigo blue is the super dark 'kon iro' shade, similar to the colour of Yuza Sashiko Guild's fabric, which may look black in some lighting. It isn't a natural indigo, so it won't come off on your hands or run. It is a similar colour as the other larger QH panels, like 'Seasons Greetings' and 'Maiko Bloom'.

*EU shipping can only resume when the EU simplifies its VAT regulations on mail orders. Please complain to your MEP to try to change the regs for small non EU businesses! We can't calculate, charge and remit the different amounts of VAT to all 27 EU countries four times a year, when we are one person businesses. It is too much admin and too expensive to employ an EU based agent as currently required.
