This splendid print, using 1880s fashion plates as it's source, is from The Gilded Age by Aimee Stewart for Michael Miller fabrics. Highly detailed, and really nicely printed, I thought it would be perfect for fussy cutting for some English Paper Pieced 'Grandmother's Flower Garden' rosettes - and it was. We used 2 1/2in hexagons for a very economical use of the fabric, and fussy cut the ladie's portraits, in 'Bonnets Hats'.

I have made several quilts inspired by early C19th British quilts, and I'm always on the look out for fabrics like these, which are accurate reproductions of the cottons of that era. Although, strictly speaking, this isn't a repro fabric, but a print from fashion plates, it does work very well with C19th style prints.

107cm (42in) wide (approx).
