'Furano', probably named after Furano city in Hokkaido, which is in a mountainous region, features stylised mountains with cranes, fish (red sea bream), cranes, and multitudes of flowers and foliage. The design is reminscent of the work of one of my favourite Japanese artists, Keisuke Serizawa. Simply a gorgeous print, that would work well with so many other Japanese fabrics, and make a great sashiko coordinate too.
The fabric is slightly thicker than patchwork cotton, with a barkcloth/dobby type weave.
