#TC-2 navy blue sashiko coaster panel only
These pre printed panels from Olympus Thread Mfg. Co. have all the fabric you need to make this cute set of coasters. They are printed on navy blue Kofu Tsumugi - the same fabric used for my sashiko panels and also available unprinted by the half metre (I call it 'indigo blue'). Each panel is supplied in one piece for you to stitch, cut and make up into your coasters. Instructions are in English! There is the option to either fold over the edges and hem the coasters, or to back them with another fabric (not supplied), so they have a very generous allowance all round, making them large enough to mix and match with the smaller squares printed down the centres of my sashiko panels - add a coaster kit to one of the sashiko panels for a patchwork project and you would have a total of 13 different designs in the smaller square size. Also available in #TC-3 deep red, #TC-4 purple (I call this lilac purple in the Kofu Tsumugi range) and #TC-5 golden yellow (I call this mustard yellow). They look great used as the centre squares in a patchwork table runner too (see final photo).
I also have this panel listed as a kit, which includes the printed coaster panel, one 20m skein of medium white sashiko threads and a set of 2 Olympus sashiko needles, for just £12 (saving 50p on buying the items indivually). A nice gift for a sashiko stitcher or a great way to get started with a little taste of sashiko.
Finished of each coaster size approx 4in (10cm) square.
This coaster panel is not available in Japan!
Marks wash out. NB - the marks have less contrast than my pre printed sashiko panels. The fabric is indigo colour, not natural indigo, so the colour won't run.
