#21 sashiko 5mm dot fabric dark blue by the half metre
This sashiko cotton fabric from Olympus Thread Mfg. Co. is printed with gold dots at 5mm intervals, so you can use it to space your hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko) stitches perfectly, without needing to draw a grid first. Perfect for patterns including komezashi (rice stitch), kakinohanazashi (persimmon flower stitch) and many more, even hishizashi (diamond stitch) and urokozashi (scale stitch) can be spaced accurately using this fabric. The dots wash out afterwards. The fabric is quite smooth and not textured like Azumino or Tsumgui, suitable for all kinds of projects, from cushions and bags to wearables. This listing is for the blue version of this fabric - I also have the black. Plain versions of both fabrics will be available soon.
110cm wide (dots cover approx. 105cm of the total width).
Made in Japan by Olympus Thread Mfg. Co.
NB - sold in half metre (50cm) lengths, so please order '2' for one metre, '3' for 1 1/2m etc. Fabric will be sent as one continous length. Maximum length on bolt is 5 metres.
Zigzag or overlock the edges before stitching sashiko, as this fabric will fray more than regular patchwork cottons.
