Stamped is Seth Apter's latest collection for FreeSpirit, and 'Sidelined' (first photo) is in shades of taupe on an ivory background.  The collection has monochrome designs that would work well with other designs from Seth's previous collections, plus many other modern prints. Other photos show the rest of the collection. Minimalist and fun!

Printed on patchwork weight cotton, this fabric makes an ideal coordinate for my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads. Free Spirit fabrics are printed on a 68 count cotton rather than the 60 count used for many other brands, meaning they are slightly finer than many patchwork fabrics and are also suitable for making clothing.

Another top quality fabric from FreeSpirit!

107cm (42in) wide (approx).

100% cotton

NB - sold by the half metre, so order '2' for 1 metre, '3' for 1.5m etc.

  • Seth Apter is a mixed media artist, instructor, author, and designer from New York City. He came to the world of art later in life, transitioning from a full-time career as a psychologist to being a full-time artist and maker. Seth’s artistic practice is based on the concepts of community and collaboration, and he believes in the power of art to bring people together. His work has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions and can be found in numerous books and national magazines. Seth has also published two books of his own, The Pulse of Mixed Media and The Mixed-Media Artist. His love of the creative energy that occurs when artists are brought together has led him to spend a great deal of time teaching workshops - both online and in person across the world. Closer to home, he is an instructor at Pratt Institute in NYC. As a designer, he has created collections with many companies over the years, including Impression Obsession, StencilGirl Products, Spellbinders, Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, WOW, Aladine and PaperArtsy. Art for him is everything and sharing the process in all these different forms makes it even better.

  • Seth says - 'I often say that it is all about the details and that the smallest detail makes the biggest difference. But I also say that more is more and, as a result, the details often get lost in the layers. For Stamped, my newest collection, I stripped back the layers to make the details the star of the show. Each of the nine designs highlight individual elements, be they words, lines, shapes, or patterns. Eight of the designs are in shades of taupe on an ivory background. And who doesn’t like a surprise -- the ninth design will bring a carnival of color to your makes. Perfect low volume prints to use as backgrounds and blenders.
