'Garden Bed' by Rachel Hauer for FreeSpirit fabrics features the inhabitants of our gardens, both flora and fauna, in a range of lush designs.
This listing is for the charming 'Dogwood' (first photo) where black capped chickadees perch among the flowers and foliage. We don't have this bird in the UK, but dogwood, also a native of North America, is commnly grown here as a garden shrub. Other prints from this range are shown in the other photos.
Printed on patchwork weight cotton, these fabrics would make cute coordinates for some of my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads. Free Spirit fabrics are printed on a 68 count cotton rather than the 60 count used for many other brands, meaning they are slightly finer than many patchwork fabrics and are also suitable for making clothing.
