Dreamweaver Chambray is a range of yarn dyed fabrics from P&B Textiles. This listing is for the olive green colourway (first photo). The other photos show some of the other chambrays in this range that I have selected for you. My wholesaler gave me a good price on these so I'm passing that on directly to you.
Chambray is a fabric traditionally used for work wear, woven with a coloured warp and a white weft. Excellent for clothing and lightweight home dec, it makes a great patchwork fabric, going well with all styles of prints and wovens. Chambray is a good lighter weight fabric for sashiko, for fine and medium sashiko threads, and the perfect choice when you want to incorporate some detailed patchwork with your sashiko in a quilt. It is also a lovely addition for boro inspired stitching.
I chose this fabric because I am always on the lookout for something a little different for sashiko and boro. I think you will love it too. Quantities are limited because I won't be able to reorder these fabrics.
100% cotton
Width 110cm (43in)
NB - just to be on the safe side, I would pre shrink this fabric before starting your project.
Washing Instructions – Manufacturer says: Machine wash 30. Line dry. We strongly recommend testing a small piece first to be sure, especially if using it for clothing.
Sashiko marking - Because the weft thread is white, white markers like the Clover White Marking Pen (fine) and the Sewline pencil in white won't show up well on chambrays. I recommend using a wash out marker such as Crayola's washable felt tip pens or a wash out blue marking pen to mark your designs.
NB - This fabric is sold by the half metre, so order '1' for 1/2m, '2' for 1m etc.
