This linen look 100% cotton fabric from Japanese manufacturer Sevenberry homespun cotton is printed to look like vintage katazome (stencil dyed) fabric, in cream on dark indigo blue. The slightly lower thread count, linen look plain weave, and soft thickness is almost identical to the Takumi range from Olympus Thread Mfg. Co., and the two ranges work well together. Ideal for boro inspired work, sashiko, bags, home textile or wearables, this is a versatile fabric. I included it in some of the projects in 'The Book of Boro'. Lovely to hand stitch.

Sevenberry don't name their fabric patterns, just give them code numbers, which can be hard to remember, so we call this one hagire (fabric scraps). The pattern alternates between four different square patterns - shippo ('seven treasures' or interlocked circles), sakura (cherry blossom), ume (plum blossom) and nami (waves).
