Designed by Kaffe Fassett for the Kaffe Fassett Collective, produced by Free Spirit fabrics, 'Cloisonne' is a richly coloured Chinese inspired design with orange, purple, pink and green, against a yellow background. Available in three other colourways - blue, 'contrast', and purple.

Kaffe Fassett is one of the world's best known textile artists, with his work spanning several genres including knitting, needlepoint, mosaic, interior design, fabrics, and patchwork, with his original career being as a painter known for his still lifes, which often featured Chinese or Japanese ceramics and other objects.
 
Printed on patchwork weight cotton, this fabric makes an ideal coordinate for my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads. Free Spirit fabrics are printed on a 68 count cotton rather than the 60 count used for many other brands, meaning they are slightly finer than many patchwork fabrics and are also suitable for making clothing.
