The name Saariselkä literally means "island-ridge" (suáluiščielgi in Inari Sami and suoločielgi in Northern Sami). It is a famous fell range and resort area in Finnish Lapland, and it is snowy for around 200 days a year!

This listing is for the simple 'Forest' design (first photo), in the red colourway. I also have this print in stock in warm grey. Patchwork weight cotton, perfect for dressmaking, lightweight home dec, patchwork and quilting, as a sashiko coordinate, and for other stitch crafts. 

I got an excellent discount on these from the manufacturers, so I'm passing that on directly to you - this fabric is great value at just £9 per metre.

Available by the half metre - order '1' for 1/2m, '2' for 1m etc. Fabric will be supplied as a continuous piece whenever possible.
