Shell Rummel's latest collection is the subtle 'Daybreak' for FreeSpirit fabrics
This listing is for 'Unfolding' (first photo) in white on neutral grey, a delicate abstract design.
Other photos show the rest of this collection I have in stock, including the beautiful 'Sunrise to Sunset' full width design (last two photos).
Printed on patchwork weight cotton, these fabrics make an ideal coordinate sfor my sashiko panels, and the colours can be matched from my extensive range of sashiko threads. Free Spirit fabrics are printed on a 68 count cotton rather than the 60 count used for many other brands, meaning they are slightly finer than many patchwork fabrics and are also suitable for making clothing.
I have sold Shell Rummel's fabrics at quilting events for several years, and this is the first time I am adding them to my website - keeping up with demand for her prints has been tricky! The stunning hand painted effect of these fabrics is so lovely in real life.
111cm (44in) wide.
100% cotton
NB - sold by the half metre, so order '2' for 1 metre, '3' for 1.5m etc.
PWSR097.BLUEHOUR 'Unfolding' Daybreak by Shell Rummel, by 1/2m
Shell writes - 'My favorite time of day is Daybreak, when the inky night begins to fade away and early morning light appears. The world transforms into mysterious hues of lavenders and dusky blues, and then slowly into soft seashell pinks and warm corals. I love that there is so much hopeful energy ahead of the rising sun! Those beautiful monochromatic early morning hours are unique ... your eyes focus mostly on lines and layers, shadows and glimmers of light, all the while seeking patterns of familiarity. The saturated palette of Daybreak is a fresh departure from the more muted coastal colors that often grace my designs ... yet, as always, there remains a consistent, watercolor inspired fluidity to my designs and a desire to honor a moment in time, however brief. In Daybreak, I feel I have captured the essence of hope and renewal which begins each day with the return of the light.'
