This coordinated combination of five 20m varigated sashiko threads includes #93 autumn maple leaves, #95 yellow to light green, #72 blues and turquoise, #53 pink to white, and #75 re/gold/orange/pink. I have used these colours to stitch sashiko sampler hanafukin panels H-213 Nanten (nandina berries), H-214 Momiji (maple), H-236 Sakura, and H-238 Kingyo (goldfish), planning to combine them into a wallhanging or table runner on a them of The Seasons. You could also add H-240 Tombo (Dragonfly) and a skein of 20m #77 for the dragonflies, and have five panels instead of four.
There's a 5% discount off this bundle too. Please note - this mercerised thread feels slightly thicker and fluffier than the 100m sashiko thread, which is mercerised and feels a little smoother by comparison. Mercerisation was only introduced to Japan in the late C19th, so this thread feels more like the 'old fashioned' sashiko thread. For all your sashiko, boro inspired stitching, big stitch hand quilting, creative embroidery etc.
Ideal with the Olympus Thread Mfg. Co. printed sashiko sampler hanafukin panels. Many hanafukin require one skein of thread approx. if used singly, more if used doubled. These colour themed packs are a great choice if you want to vary the colours used on your panel, perhaps coordinating several panels, by using the same selection of thread colours.
NB - thread labels are now kraft paper brown. Previously, this range had white labels. It is the same thread, made by the company that prints my sashiko panels.
All these threads are also available individually.
