Azumino #65 (#85) deep indigo blue cotton - precut cloth
A 55 x 45cm (21 1/2 x 17 3/4in) precut piece of thicker cotton fabric from Olympus, excellent for sashiko, embroidery, patchwork, bag making and other projects. It is made to look like old cloth, with subtle colours and a slight wrinkle in the texture, and feels like a soft, handwoven cotton. The weave is loose enough to easily stitch sashiko with fine, medium or thick sashiko threads. Ideal for wearables, boro style patchwork, or any project where an antique look is desired.
This is the same fabric that was used for many of the projects and pattern directory samples in 'The Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook', including the large sampler quilt opposite the title page.
Available in 30 beautiful colours. Shade 65 deep indigo blue is also available by the half metre - click here.
Made and packed in Japan
- The 55 x 45cm (21 1/2 x 17 3/4in) precut size is fractionally smaller than a USA 'fat quarter' size (18in x half bolt width). The fabric is cut and packed in Japan to this standard size.
- The number in brackets is the Olympus stock number for this precut. The pack labels refer to this number rather than the main shade number.
Zigzag or overlock the edges before stitching sashiko, as this fabric will fray more than regular patchwork cottons.
