Do you know the Japanese sale tradition of the Lucky Bag? You get a great value discounted selection of goodies, but you can't look inside the bag first - what you get is a surprise. Lucky bags may be themed by products (stationery, accessories, makeup etc.) and are sold by stores in the sales. It seems like a nice idea to continue this a bit this year, for Golden Week, the annual spring holiday, which lasts from 29th April to 5th May.

This is a sashiko lucky bag on the theme of 'GOLD' which gives you a clue as to the metallic patchwork fabrics in the bag. There will be 5 metric fat quarters in a mixture of Japanese and other gold prints. These will be colour coordinated, as chosen by me so they will all work nicely together, but the rest is a mystery - they could be mainly multicolours, or purples, or reds, or blues, or creams, or greens...! There will be a mixture of feature prints and coordinates. The one thing that links all the prints is that the metallic is GOLD (I'm also doing a silver lucky bag if you prefer that colour).
