'Japanese maple tree' sashiko panel INDIGO
This gorgeous indigo blue sashiko panel is pre-printed with the exact stitch lengths, so it is suitable for all levels of sashiko stitch experience. The design is a view of a Japanese maple tree and bridge, with a hint of a stylised stream. It is printed across four rectangular panels, which could be separated and mounted as a screen, or made into a traditional noren (Japanese door curtain). It also works perfectly as a wall hanging or quilt centre (as shown in the coloured photos*). Back it or border it with another fabric of your choice. The maple leaves can be filled in with embroidery stitches or appliqued fabrics, for a different look, as shown in the extra photos
Total panel size is 42in (110cm) wide x 33in (84cm) wide approx, printed across the full width of the fabric.
Suggested threads - combine various colours from the 20m medium sashiko thread range, or go for fewer colours in the 100m medium or 370m (4ply) fine sashiko thread ranges, using all these either singly or doubled for a bolder effect. 80m (3ply) fine sashiko thread could also be used doubled. This panel has many creative options for coordination with your interior decor. By changing the colour of the maple leaves, you could evoke a springtime or autumn scene. The bridge would look wonderful in traditional bright red! The exact amount of thread used will vary according to whether you stitch with a single or doubled thread.
