Indigo Niche 'sashiko shell' panel INDIGO
The first batch of these sold out straight away, so I have some more on order, which will hopefully arrive just before Christmas. Keep checking, because I will list them for sale as soon as they arrive in the UK.
This fabulous indigo blue sashiko panel with a contemporary style is pre-printed with the exact stitch lengths, so it is suitable for all levels of sashiko stitch experience. It combines traditional geometric patterns with funky retro modern blooms. Designed by Cathy Schibrowski for Indigo Niche, Australia, this panel can be stitched in either brights as shown or in more traditional white or cream. It would also look fabulous with shaded or varigated threads, or in shades of blue. So many possibilities! It could be completed to make a wall hanging, table runner, quilt centre, or even folded and wrapped to make a bag. Back it or border it with another fabric of your choice.
Total panel size is 43in (110cm) high x 18in (45cm) wide approx, printed across the full width of the fabric.
Suggested threads - combine various colours from the 20m medium sashiko thread range, or go for fewer colours in the 100m medium or 370m (4ply) fine sashiko thread ranges, using all these either singly or doubled for a bolder effect. 80m (3ply) fine sashiko thread could also be used doubled. This panel has many creative options for coordination with your interior decor. The exact amount of thread used will vary according to whether you stitch with a single or doubled thread.
panel measures 112cm x 50cm
100% Japanese cotton fabric
I suggest edging the raw edges with a machine zigzag or narrow overlock stitch to prevent fraying before you start.
Printed with water-soluble ink - marks wash out - do not prewash!
