This kit makes five beautiful sashiko coasters, perfect for a gift or just to keep for yourself! The sashiko designs are hand printed in white on deep red Kofu Tsumugi 100% cotton fabric (an easy to stitch traditional Japanese cotton cloth, which is also used for my larger sashiko panels). The instructions are in Japanese but mainly pictorial, so they are easy to follow (you can also use the Google Translate smartphone app to 'read' the Japanese text). Just remember, measurements are all in centimetres, not inches. Kit contains printed sashiko fabric, sashiko threads and a sashiko needle (the third photo shows the materials pack for the indigo blue colourway). Stitch through one layer only.
The patterns in this kit are a contemporary twist on traditional sashiko motifs. There is another kit for five coasters with a different pattern selection, this time on the indigo blue version of Kofu Tsumugi, which would coordindate nicely with this one if you wanted to make a set of ten coasters.
Finished size for the stitched area is 10cm (4in approx) square, and the coasters are approx. 4 3/4in finished size.
If you are curious about how these panels and my sashiko panels are printed, take a look at the second photo. It is amazing screen print set up.

NB - international shipping* is temporarily disabled. New shipping rates by weight will be coming soon!
*EU shipping can only resume when the EU simplifies its VAT regulations on mail orders. Please complain to your MEP to try to change the regs for small non EU businesses! We can't calculate, charge and remit the different amounts of VAT to all 27 EU countries four times a year, when we are one person businesses. It is too much admin and too expensive to employ an EU based agent as currently required.
